Here is another rough cut of my work so far. In this rough cut I have 2/3 of my performance footage sections added. Both sections are very rough and need a lot of work and tighter editing done to them but I thought it would be a good time to upload another trial to see where my video was at and the progress I've started to make.

I think the general concept is okay, although you're right about the editing. When you get the lip-synch right, the performance is fairly effective, but this is really something which takes a lot of precision. I think some of the jump cuts during the narrative work well, but some don't (you cut between two very similar shots quite a lot so it just looks like glitchy editing) - when it's more obvious, it works more effectively. I still think that the structure is a little pedestrian - I think you could cross-cut between the narrative and the performance a little more from the second verse onwards - and the editing itself is still a little lacking in pace when the tempo picks up (some of the shots are still held for way too long...) There are some odd fades through black which don't quite work. Some of the camera movement is a little ropey during the performance as well - you might want to look at this? We can go through it on Tuesday if you want.
