Here is the fourth rough cut of my music video. This cut shows all of the narrative components of the video that I have edited. I feel that there are elements of the narrative that could potentially be improved upon and I certainly need to try to play around with the contrast between the flashback scenes and the present day scenes to distinguish between the sections more clearly. However, overall I am currently very happy with how the video is coming along, I am just waiting for Ben to have some spare time out of his annoyingly busy schedule to re-shoot the performance footage. I agree that it's coming along and also about the contrast (I think your "now" footage should certainly be more contrast-y!). I think you need to break up the "flashback" sequences (particularly the long one during the bridge about 2.40 in) with some performance footage, since otherwise you have quite a long sequence of very similar shots. You also need to find someone else to play the drug dealer, as we discussed.
ReplyDeleteThere are a good range of shots and some effective editing (although I think the opening still needs tightening a little - possibly you could intercut some footage of Ben performing with this in order to break it up a little and introduce the performance aspect more swiftly?)
